I used the ZEP "Wet Look", which is about $10 more than the ZEP shown above.

The above picture of my counter top was a big mistake. No, not the picture; the tape. Now, I have to strip and re-do where the definitive line is.

I put it on with a damp, folded up micro-fiber towel.

Has anyone used Prep-sol (preparation solvent) as a final wipe down before applying the Red Max? Prep-sol is used before painting a car so I wondered if it is applicable here.

I just checked my local Lowe's. Had 10 bottles of # 3. Asked manager if it was being discontinued. He checked computer and said no indication of it being a discontinued item and he could order more if needed.

This is Lowe's in Bolingbrook, IL
He was also surprised when I told him what it was being used for.

I have no knowledge for your answer but it would not be needed. Use the products that work great. my thoughts would be something left on the surface from your product that might not be a good thing.

I would NOT use anything other than what has been discussed here. Painting and applying RMP are 2 very different activities, and there is no point in spending more and doing more than has already been proven to give a nice, durable finish to old fiberglass.

Other products left on the surface may not play nicely with Red Max.

JMHO.

I completed the Red Max Pro procedure this past weekend and I'm truly amazed with the results. The prep is the key! Take your time and find every little spec of dirt, mildew, black streak, etc... I would estimate that the shine is 70% better than what I started with and I was pretty happy with what I had, but wanting more shine.

Thanks again!

I used ZEP Wet Look, the equivalent of RMP#3, on my counter tops. They look almost like new.

Attaching a couple of before and after pics. So the 4 pictures sequence will go: Before / After, Before / After. All pictures taken with the same camera.

I wonder when I get home in April and soon after when it warms up in Washington st do I give our alpenlite a couple more applications and what do I wash the alpenlite with?? Car wash without any shine wax or dawn soap or just TSP. I think others need to know the answer to my question and I know it just might be opinions but please give your thoughts. thanks. chevman

I use Awsome cleaner. Get it at the Dollar store. Cheap and a very good cleaner. Read the dilution instructions on the bottle. I use it at about 50/50.
