Redneck windshield washer reservoir:

The oem one literally disintegrated. Leaving for a 10 day trip at zero dark thirty, none of my local auto parts stores stocked a generic replacement bottle, so I removed the pump and grommet, stuck them in a Dasani bottle, cut a small hole in the center of the "top" and zip tied it to the firewall. Works like a charm:

Jury-rig, I think. I don't believe WW2 Germans had anything to do with it.

To the OP. Nicely done.

I have a sister in law named Gerri. She drinks Dasani. Gerri rig?

Once on a trip to NJ from my home in CT, a similar fault occurred in my car, but it was the pump, not the tank. I tried but could not get a replacement and wired in an electric water pistol to the system.

Worked like a charm to get me home, and for the 5 weeks it took for the special order pump.

A solution in a timely manner is a good solution.
