Question Reflooring 95 bounder

I am replacing the 20+ year old carpet in my bounder, pulled the carpet up on side there is a cut piece of angle iron bolted to floor next to passenger side wall 10', nothing on other side. trying to figure out if this is factory or did someone in the past bolt it there. being bolted to the floor only it doesn't seem to be a frame piece or a wall support. any ideas? I'm putting vinyl planking down an will have to get creative.

I just replaced the carpet on my 96 Bounder and there wasn't anything like that in mine. I would guess someone put that in for some reason.

Thanks
Adam

Maybe it's to strengthen a spongy weak spot in the floor. If that's the case perhaps you could simply rebolt it underneath.
