My original carpet in my 1988 Holiday Rambler Class C is looking bad so I want to replace it. I know the motorhome had the carpet put down before any cabinets. I have some laminate floating wood floor I could put down but don't want to use trim around all the edges where I cut the carpet out. Will the peel and stick tiles or the glue down tiles work with all the temperature changes? I have seen some neat looking plank style laminate. What is the best way to go? I can do the work myself so i'M not worried about labor.

Vinyl, glue it down. I used planks.

Yes, I also used Vinyl sheeting in the Living and Bathroom areas. I didn't glew it down though as I cut it to shape and it doesn't move at all.

My mate used floating floor boards in his Motorhome but with all the timber cabinets, I thought timber floors was just too much timber look and also darkended the interior.

Putting down vinyl should really be much different than putting down laminate; you have to deal with the edges either way. I just finished putting down wood laminate in mine. My subflooring was a bit uneven, but I solved that by using anti-fatigue rubber neoprene floor tiles that I already had under the laminate. Only took a couple of hours.

We installed laminate flooring also. We did add quarter round to finish the edge and hide the carpet cutouts. I would highly recommend going with a laminate floor. Easy to install and available in many colors and styles. Since our RV has a lot of wood already, we chose a color lighter but with the same tones. We replaced the ceiling as well and used a light colored panel. Wishing you well with your endeavors.

I used a wood toned vinyl plank flooring that floats. I also used quarter round molding to hide the edges. My planking overlaps like a laminate flooring, but only sticks to itself, and not the MH sub floor.

Looks like wood, light in color, and is tough as nails... This is the 2nd MH I have done this to.
