Silver "paint" on the roof?

it's a 86 Chieftain and we are redoing the roof wiht calking.

What s the silver colored paint that is over the roof?

After we are done sealing the roof do we need to put some of htis stuff back on?

It's Koolseal (brand name) roof coating. Made in silver and white. Not specifically made for RV roof.

Kool seal is great on the roof, Did it on my 87 Chieftan and now it's on my 83 Itasca 33" (2 coats)......
The cooling effect reduces the inside temp by 5-10º depending on the angle of the sun and season.....I'm ready to purchase another 5 gallons and repaint after 3 years..

And is there any recommended delay after doing the calking?

Hmmm, I don't know which one I used......Purchased the bucket from "Home Depot"....
Used Eterna bond on all 4 sides of the rig first then the following week the sides got painted and the roof was rollered on....
One warning tho.....Wear dark glasses cuz the paint is a very white bright and painfull to your eyes....

I've always used an ACE hardware product called "Snow Roof" on my roofs - both home AND RV. It's a brilliant white, rubbery material about like thick cream in consistency - it applies easily with brush or roller, sets up quickly, and remains somewhat soft and flexible once fully cured - which is EXACTLY what is needed on RV surfaces facing rapid changes in temperatures, flexing and vibration. Never had any problems with it, and wouldn't use anything else!

AVOID like the plague stuff that has to be "gobbed" on with spatulas or putty knives - and stuff that dries hard as a rock - it will quickly crack open and leaks will return - and later treatments even with the proper stuff become extremely difficulit unless ALL the old junk is removed first...
