Simplicity of older engines

Well I fired up my rv today just to get things circulating and moving.
It fired up easily and ran smoothly.
Dealing with newer vehicles and all the various sensors all over the entire engine and exhaust can be a real pain in the back side.
As Scotty from Star Trek said "the more plumbing they put into the engine, the easier it is to stop it up"
I guess I just enjoy the reliability of a plain simple engine where all you have to check is Air, Fuel, and Spark

I'm with you Grog ! keep it simple -- Just love my old school MH. Far less to go wrong and very easy to diagnose when there is an issue .

I worked as a school bus mechanic for 40 years. Our best buses were the old Internationals that you turned the key to crank, and pulled the silver handle to shut off. No electronics! The worst we had were the new & improved ones that, when a warning light came on I had to drive out to it, hook it to a laptop, run a diagnostics program & wait for it to tell me the coolant was low! And I never could figure out how having a switch tell a computer to turn something on was better than just letting the switch turn it on.
