Sleeping Beauty is glad she is NOT here!!

Spotted these Spartans in their graveyards this weekend. Some are difficult to see since the pics were taken from the road. Believe it or not, there is an elderly man here in town that owns 6 Spartans (along with an endless supply of "other stuff"), and unfortunately they are wasting away . Prior to purchasing mine, I tried to make a deal with him but to no avail. I even tried the good old bring a 6-pack trick!! He is one of those hoarders of sorts, anyway, I also spotted a nice 35 or 40 footer just outside of town which I took 2 pics of.
Sad to see these amazing campers waste away like this!! Enjoy the pics.

Just think of the miles & memories those beauties had in their hayday.

Spartan

My father in law had one that had been lived in previously. He parked it at Albert Pike campground in Arkansas ( the one that flooded ) and we used it for years. He even had a porch and cover added. When he could no longer go there and we had bought a cabin, it was sold to a contractor who wanted to build a cabin on the lot. The Spartan had sat there for at least 20 years. When the contractor hauled it out, the tires still had air in them and he towed it about 200 miles to another site.

Your thread caught my attention last I can remember you were getting your beauty ready to move out of boat shed.
It sure looks different now.
Your new floor is coming along also.
Will have to check in more often you have some experienced help also will turn out to be a classic.

I sure hate to see those old beauties set and deteriorate to nothing. Sometimes the "owner" will sit one thinking that it will be worth a fortune some day...so it sets and sets and he dies and no one knows what to do with the trailer.

This is true! Often times people do not realize what a gem these old trailers can be, which of course can sometimes be a plus to us vintage trailer enthusiasts!

Kinda thought that was Woodward. I saw those when we camped at Alabaster Caverns last Memorial day.
LOL, looking at Google street view the camera truck caught someone else stopping for a look.

I spotted this Argosy on the same road in Woodward, west of the big fire station.
