sleeping beauty update!! What's this???

I have just finished gutting her like a fish. All that's left is her rib cage and skin. One rib seems to have deteriorated to a powder. Must have come into contact with a chemical, anyhow, I will get the latest pics to you guys. Will start wiring and insulation soon. Decided on a floor plan. Had to get the wife's okay on that!!

Be sure to get all of the corrosion chemical out and neutralize the are with a good water flush and then seal it with a uretnane spray coating.

Thanks for the advice. Planning on replacing that section with a new aluminum base.

looks like some type of mold to me . I think I would spray it with bleach and let it dry and sweep it up .By the way us old folks sure like seeing your progress , kinda helps us remember when we had the energy to do a rebuild. keep up the good work , I'm sure we will all be proud of that sleeping beauty when you finish

I think that is aluminum corosion. I've seen that happen before. it's amazing how much powder you get from a small amount of aluminum.
