Suspension Improvements to the "Old Dog."

After our first "away trip" we decided to make some improvements to our rig to make it more driver-friendly.

We've already added LED projector headlights so next up was a suspension upgrade. Luckily we found a great heavy truck repair garage fairly close by whose owner is also a motorhomer. Bob had his crew go over the rig. So far a complete tune-up and replacement of the front links has been done. Decided to get six new tires and have the dash A.C. serviced but the upgrade we are looking forward to most is the addition of new Konis all around and SumoSprings. A few other minor tweaks and we shoukd be set.

One rather interesting note: Bob found two more leads in the left rear spring cluster than the right. Besides an out-and-out screw up, only thing I can think of is more support if the waste tanks are full. In any case we will research this and see if a correction is needed.

Lots of input from this site decided me on the Konis and Sumos. We'll report back when done and tell you all how it went and if it was worth it.

I'd get the RV weighed before any further spring work. There are folks that have installed extra spring leaves on the side that is sagging to make the RV stop leaning. Perhaps a previous owner added the leaves to compensate for a weight imbalance.
