Swapped 16.5" wheels for 16" wheels: Question

Okay, so after months of research and purchases, I was finally able to replace the six 16.5" lug-centric rims and tires on my 1977 Ford Brougham Class C with six 16" lug-centic rims and tires. (These tims are hard to find used) The rig runs great but I want to know if I might be able to use one of the 16.5" rims with tire as a spare in an emergency.

Any thoughts? If it's just a bad idea, I will start looking for a seventh 16" lug-centric rim as a spare.

I wouldn't do it. It wouldn't be safe to put a 16.5" rim on a dual rear with a 16". On the front, you'd have two tires of different size, not good for directional stability.

In an emergency if you have a flat of one of the rear duallies, move one of the fronts to the rear position and use the odd size spare on the front. In an emergency that should get you to the service centre.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will start to search for one more 16" lug-centric rim.
