Thanks for sharing, Cliff. We found this to be the best part of the show this year.

Thanks to the Tin Can Tourists for coming out and sharing the rigs.

Nope, did not see the raccoon.

If you ever stop at Albuquerque, NM visit Enchanted Trails CG next to Camping World on 40 heading west. They have a collection of restored car/trailer combinations. Trailers are available for nightly rental like a cabin.

Great to see people keeping the classics around.

This really WAS a great display. In addition to all the care you can see that the vintage owners put into restoration and conservation of their units, it is fascinating, as always, to see the designs of others' RVs and then fast forward ahead to what we have developed into. There are several great ideas from the 40's and 50's that remain today -- and another bunch of them which fostered new ideas that we now use.

To think of the original owners of those vintage RVs being able -- when they first owned their units -- to see into the future what we see at the Tampa Show now -- full wall slides with gorgeous full paint and graphics, LED lights, dishwashers, Comfort Steering, 600 HP engines, multiplex lighting, surround audio, tag axle chassis, Smart wheels, Aqua Hot, 10K quiet generators, 50 amp electric service, satellite radio with coast to coast service that works wherever you are, all electric coaches -- it would just blow their minds!

And ... while we think we are on top of the world with what we have and what we're ordering now, just think for a minute about what we will see ten years from now! Hybrid and much more fuel efficient motors, internet on demand in the coach, run flat tires eliminating blow out risk, smoother chassis construction, even better audio and video systems, readily available, reasonably priced and completely safe induction cooking surfaces, more safety systems just to name a few.

So yes, thanks to the owners of the vintage RVs for their super display at the Tampa Show and thanks, Cliff, for the excellent pictures so everyone can enjoy.

Very much worth the time to stop & chat with many of the owners. This area was one of the better part of the show.

We attended on Wednesday, wish we had 2 days to be there. We spent all of our time looking and comparing diesel pushers as we are in the market to move up. We missed a lot due to time, didn't even know about or see the vintage rvs.

Liked the one with the 'first ever slideout', kind of styled after the old 'chuck wagon' look.
