Texas and Alaska ( and California north to south) are such large places that one weather map does not fit the whole state. Today around Austin the high is supposed to be 73, tomorrow the high is going to be 48?

if memory serves, we had a couple of inches of snow last year down in the valley. It don't last and we don't get it very often. The mountains get it all the time. We can still see the snow up there from here. Its pretty to look at and if we want, we can go up the mountain roads and play in it. As for the heat of summer, You work in the morning if outside you take a siesta in the afternoon and come back out in the evening. Dry heat is different than humid...112 feels like 85 to 90 in a humid area. Texas comes to mind...
