Time for new floor

I have decided to replace my old carpet with vinyl plank flooring. Should I remove the dinette seating and the fold out couch or just cut the carpet around the edges? The Carpet underneath those is never seen unless you open the covers to access seat belts or use the storage under the couch.

I think it's really personal preference maybe balanced against how much effort to remove stuff. When we had sheet vinyl installed, I removed anything I could so as the new flooring was as factory as possible.

I took the dinette and couch out. I'm still pulling staples. I found my floor was rotted around the toilet flange so now need to fix that before doing the floor. I think the toilet valve is cracked and was leaking. I'll put a new toilet in just in case. From all my research it seems most people install allure flooring from Home Depot. I know they say it floats but is it ok to screw down the dinette and couch frame over it and also screw down the dinette table supports to the floor?

Yes. It doesn't absolutely have to float, it's just engineered so that it will.
