Time to leave the Nest, suggestions?

This forum may be the place to ask, but many here has been so helpful, I wanted to ask here.

We are taking the Clipper for our maiden trip. I say ours, since the Clipper has more experience at RVing than the wife and I

We are headed down to the Gulf coast this weekend and will end up between Mobile, Al and Persacola, Fl. Any suggests for a 1 maybe 2 night stay over? RV park etc.

Thanks,

Terry

Good Luck.
Doing at least a one nighter - even in your driveway is a great way to find out what the problems are - both with the coach and your planning.

Good luck and have fun, Terry. The only RV park we have stayed in near Pensacola is the KOA at Milton FL. It was OK, but a lot of highway noise from I-10. How far is this trip you're planning? Matt might have a good idea, to camp in the driveway or in a local campground to check things out before venturing too far. Enjoy!

We live less than 300 miles from Pensacola, Fl. Our plans, since we have never RV'd, is to drive down (about 600 miles round trip) spend a night or two in a RV park and return.

That will give me a feel for the MH, a little experience setting up and break down in a RV park.

In two weeks, racing season will start. Our first trip is to Gainsville Fl. then a few weeks later to Tx. over the course of the season, we will be in NC, Va, Oh, Mo, Al and back to Tx again.

To me staying in a campground is no way to experience RVing. I prefer to park in wilderness areas far away from the noise. Along the Gulf you might try some of the primative camping areas at

Gulf Islands National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service)
