I think it should be able to carry a smart car or perhaps a Fiat.
How would you put a hitch on to pull as stacker?
|
A little too short for one of my Fiats (78 Spiders). I wouldn't be caught dead in a SmartCar and I do not like the new Fiat 500. No way the Aero would fit and it weighs too much.
I see a lightweight receiver on the drop ramp but suspect rated for nothing more than say a small watercraft. But that ramp system is built to hold two heavy bikes while bouncing down the highway so it's a start. Pretty beefy.
I'd have to get a good look at it to find a way to have the pulling strength to handle the weight (10k+). The frame is in there somewhere, but I suspect even then you would need to use a TOAD dolly to carry the tongue weight. I'm a CLACer Gordon. If there is a way, I'll find it.
Re-engineer the existing ramp system so all 4 corners drop to ground level. At the bottom of the opening construct an interlocking frame (when the garage is in the up position) that attaches to the main chassis. Electrically operated pins similar to a receiver pin but larger to lock the 2 frames together. Now you have the pulling ability.
Dang, I might be on my way to FLA soon. I can't find anything to not like about that rig. I only showed it here cause it was unique. Had not even considered buying it, but the more I look at it......
Lotta tail swing on that beauty though.

Would love to see it in your driveway. Perhaps later we would be able to see it first hand if all the stars align and we are all able to get together.
With that tail swing the trailer will stay in or close to the track.

Rebuild
Good Evening, Wow, at 150,000 that's a steal, If I was looking (and had the money) I would buy that in a heart beat, I told DW that the tickets would be in hand and I'd be on my way to Fla. I put in the door to the garage have to build in the lock ect. and trim the door out, but the basics are there. Also need to paint the garage side.

Good Morning, Frank, I should have a list then I could tell if I was getting close to being finished. Been working in the bedroom area, insulated the nose now I can start construction up there.

Sounds like a great deal Curtis is offering you Jay. During the trip I expect he will probably identify and fix a number of small issues.

Looking good Terry, are you going to make the nose there closet space? or are you going to use the space for something else?
Curtis,
Glad to see that you haven't lost your sense of humor while being drenched like a drowned rabbit.
Jay,
That sounds like a good deal to me

Good Afternoon, Frank, It was going to be closet but I ended up with extra, (is there such a thing?) space at the left bottom of the bed, where the bathroom wall joins the bedroom wall. That space is now going to be the head of the bed with a flat space on ether side. There will be 16" on ether side so there will be a small dresser on the side.

If I was not so far away I would offer to ride down and co-pilot.

Good deal Terry, sounds like a good layout. The bedroom bump out on my Alpha is the closet, not the bed, so I have a full size double closet. The bed headboard is on the curb side, which is unusual, but works well.
Rail, thanks for the well travel wishes.
Frank
