Good Afternoon, YAAHHOOO.............the transmission is in and it works!!!. Goes forward AND backs up . We have some other maintenance stuff, ( change the oil and filter ect) before we bring it back home, now we can start on putting the body on, getting a new 5th wheel ect. The real fun begins .

Geez Terry - forward and BACK too. And all in the same day! Just had to say that. Did not expect anything less. From the looks of the transmission case in the picture you showed us I expected a good transmission.

Glad you had the necessary help and the job went well.

Terry,
Glad that you got it in and working, also glad that your help showed up and that you didn't have to do it yourself.
Popeye,
Those aren't too bad, I bought the axle nut socket for mine, it makes it easier to get the nuts tightened correctly to set your bearing preset. Don't forget to install new oil seals in your hubs before putting the drums back on. Also check the drums for out of round, have seen this before, I had to replace the drums on my 97 1 ton, they were too far out of round to turn.

Good Morning, Thanks all, Yup the help showed up and a good day followed, we all had a hand where necessary, I did have to go for coffee and donuts . Then another had to go for lunch, in between we changed a trany. Tim, I mostly supervised , just jumped in when a hand was needed. Well its supposed to go up to 76* today and DW has the week off, so we are heading out on a motorcycle trip up into the Adirondacks for some leaf peeping and taking pics. Catch all later.
