Terry,
I like the looks of the Tot'r, it is going to look 1st class when you get done. Of course everyone expects nothing less from the master. (just kidding). Seriously, We are all amazed at how good you are at making a pile of metal into fabulous work.
Later,
Frank

Terry

If what we are getting here in MI all day is heading your way, Hold on to your TOTR. This is one bad storm. We already have 4 foot drifts in front of the house and across the driveway and it is supposed to continue through 4pm tomorrow.

I plan to stay in and stay warm. Will try to get to w--k tomorrow but not going to kill myself to do that.

Try to stay warm and safe to any and all who are anywhere near this. Winter is making up for what it has not delivered so far.

Good Afternoon, Frank, Thanks, Fabrication in steel was always something I enjoyed doing, starting with my father he was always designing and building things he needed. If I didn't love driving like I did I would have done more of it. At an early age I took over my fathers trucking as it was something he did, but to him it just was a means to an end, I loved it he didn't perfect match. Lynne, I saw tonight on the national weather that your state was getting hit with snow, we are (so they say) on the warm side of the storm so as I type this its 43* and supposed to be 50's by tomorrow morning, and I think they said a couple inches of rain by the time its done. Be safe if you go into work tomorrow, sounds nasty.

Popeye, sorry to hear your roof is leaking again, have you tightened the bolts after the install of the gasket? Not a bad idea to avoid hurricanes though. Still raining here but now its getting colder 34* so it might turn to ice now. Working on the front bumper drilling mounting holes, then test fitting and figuring where the bends need to go, darned front fenders are rounded not flat like a Peterbuilt or Kenworth, they are easy to build for. but here is the initial bends and the chicken light layout, also building in a hinged license plate holder, I can fold it up out of the way and if I get stopped (NYS requires a front plate) I can just flip it down, (see I have one )

Hey Terry!

I do not recall. Does that truck have a tilt nose? Would it be useful to have holes in the front bumper as steps? Stick one foot in and get up there and reach the radiator or such?

Just a thought.

Looks very good.

Looking good Terry. Man did you get the winds and rain like we did down here last nite? Heard a big bang like 2 in the morning, was afraid to investigate! Woke up and our 15' Coleman canoe flew across the yard! Recyclables all over the lawn, no biggie! Hope it gets warmer although it wasn't bad today. Waiting on insurance to take the pickup to the upolstery shop after I put the new radiator and condenser in. I'm going to try to sandwich a thermostatic fan in front of the condenser to help it out as i'm converting it to 134a, wish me luck. Have a few new pics of the Dakota in the Goodmorning thread. Have a Great Day. Bobby

Nice job Terry, the bumper is going to look good. The rounded front end sure adds a lot of work to get it to look right.

Good Morning, Lloyd, Yes the Tot'r has a tilt nose, once I tilt it I have access to whatever I want to do, sooo no holes necessary in the bumper . Bobby, yup we had high winds and thunder and lighting here for several hours, now we just have the winds and cold. Frank, Yes I want a bumper that is as straight as I can but follow the curve to look normal, so I'm hoping by putting two bends It'll follow the curve without being real noticeable, still need to weld in the top, bottom and sides once I test fit it and make sure its right. Rail, for right now I'm going to paint it, I've been going back and forth on what I want to do, One, two tone top White bottom Light Gray............Or All White including the bumper and fuel tanks with contrasting attachments, Straps, hold downs ect. I do like the Starkness of all white, simple graphics and it'll also match the TH. In the future after all is done, (and I happen to keep it) then I'll start to chrome pieces. There is always a possibility that someone will like it more than me and give me an offer I can't refuse . There has been some preliminary talks of building a Super C motorhome, (preferably from a semi) and ether building a trailer or buying one, (don't like the sounds of that) to haul a toad and the bikes. That's way off in the future, (maybe after this year) . Popeye, Rail has a great idea we'll fix you right up, start one of those Go Fund Me Pages

Hi Terry! Thought it had a tilt!

Have you seen some of the new bumpers with the bed liner type material on the bumpers? Its real thick, hides the imperfections and stand up to all the bugs stones etc.. Sort of a semi gloss black.

If you use the same on steps, fuel tanks etc black with white looks pretty cool. (my opinion)
