Lloyd, no I haven't seen the bumpers your talking about, is it someone is just doing or something that is marketed for that. I can see it on the steps as a non skid.

I've seen jeeps and Super Duty's with them. Getting real popular down here. Saw a real nice Dodge dually with one yesterday.

Here's an example on a jeep.

Here's a cool one, you can incorporate your grill etc..

I've looked and looked, can't find a picture of a big rig with the same bumper. They must call them something else.

I just passed one the other day on I 85.

Good Morning, Lloyd, Are you talking about a moose bumper? if so I like them, and have thought about building one. I have the pipe benders still from building roll cages in the race cars. The coating certainly would protect and smooth things out.

Terry,

Out of curiosity, how thick is the metal stock for that bumper? 1/4"?

Charles, yes it's 1/4" plate, its a piece left over from a 4'X8' so it worked out nice, it's 13 1/4 inches wide X 8' long with the bends it came out perfect. I welded a top and bottom to finish it off, and inside next to the mounting bolts there is two 1 1/2 square tubes welded for future mounts for a Moose Bumper. Under the middle I'm welding on a hinged plate for the license plate that I can swing up and clip so you can't see it, (I just think it cleans up the look)

Terry,

Thanks for the new photo. I thought it was just a piece of flat stock, but I can now see the top (the bottom is hidden in the photo, of course) which surely adds a lot of strength as well as a finished look. I am learning a lot. I now know what "chicken lights" and "moose bumpers" are.

Terry, the bumper is looking great!
My opinion on the paint is all white, with chrome accent's, would be very clean looking and match the TH!! Rail!
