Good Afternoon, iamblum thanks!, welcome to the thread!! jump in anytime. Well today was crazy weather wise, started okay sun came out and I started work...........got a phone call.... part for a car is in so I run and get part 80 miles.......come home install part...car gone. Start back on the truck, get all the fiberglass layers laid down........then the thunder and lightning, did I mention wind? ...........also you all know I work outside, sooooo I quick grab a heat gun and try to get the fiberglass set so I can close the hood without it sagging before the rain hits, ..............mission accomplished . After the rain stops I got back to work, (lost about 3 hrs.) so I just got some done, still have more finishing, what you see on the outside is a gloss coat the tells me where there are high or low spots are. The inside is rough but if you've ever seen the inside of most truck hoods they are rough from the factory, I will smooth some out though. Main thing is its strong again.

Looks good brother. I caught the rear cap on my 99 damon this last weekend and now have to do some fiberglass repair myself. Time to hit YouTube I guess!!

iamblum, fiberglass isn't hard to work with, color matching now that's another story, I would maybe google boat repair if you want to color the glass, otherwise if your painting it doesn't matter.

Terry,
Repair patch looks top notch, just like all your other work. Hope that the weather holds off for you to finish.

Good Morning, Thanks Frank, I guess the weather is not going to cooperate . The ground is covered this am with snow and it's supposed to have snow showers and rain most of the day. Sat. is cold with low 30's, now they are talking about a possible Nor'easter for Sun. night , all the other storms have missed us all winter, Sun. is the first day of spring so we probley will get hit .

Terry - see you are getting close to starting some serious painting. I have been thinking about the ghost flames and pin striping.

I am thinking a combination of overlaid black and harley orange for the ghost flames. I think the two colors would also work for the pin striping with the majority of the striping in black w/orange accents.

Sorry about the bad weather and especially the Nor'easter prediction. Hope it misses you or fizzles before it gets too far.

Remember back when some were saying it looks like spring is almost here ? I said maybe there but up here that we're not safe till May .

I was really hoping they were the ones that were right , but !
Well at least I don't live in the high country like you,,,,, time to mount the plow blades.............maybe if we do it like Woodstock....no snow , no snow , no snow , no snow , no snow Naaaaaaahhhh.

Gordon, Yup as soon as I get done fixing all the little boo boo's on the hood I'll take it off and bring it in the shop for the final paint, hmmm have to think about the colors, I have some pearl left over from a motorcycle build a few years ago and some others that I can't remember what colors they were. There are several ways to Ghost flames, one that I like is to paint the color then do the design and use a clear with a pearl color just "off" the original with some high lights in another color again just off so when you look at the paint job from certain angles you see the design and then it disappears from a different view.........as in a "Ghost", hard to achieve but really neat when you see it. Popeye, yup you are 100% correct, I always hope that spring will come in March, (but it truly never does) I try to rush the season, but in actuality it gets here about May......No Snow No Snow No Snow hope it works .

Looks like the weather isn't going to cooperate so we stuffed the Tot'r as far in the shop as it would go, at least now I can work on one end at a time. The box almost blocks the doorway,

Terry,
Sorry that the weather is not cooperating, but at least you can get the nose in to finish what you need to on the hood. It looks like you can just drop a heavy tarp around the truck to keep the heat in and the cold out.

Terry, how deep is your shop? The lean-to would work if your shop is deep enough? Just something else for you to do! Getting the Tot'rs nose in out of the weather has to be a big plus, but it looks tight!
Sure am hoping we can meet up in a month or so, and Bobby and Sally can join us too! Three old trucker's sitting around the campfire swapping stories ought to be a hoot! Keep up the good work! Rail!

Good Morning, 16* this morning, might get into the high 20's today . but the sun is shining . working on the nose this morning, even with the heaters on its cold, had to put the items that I want to work with in front of the heater to work, but at least I'm moving forward. Rail, the shops not deep enough to get the Tot'r inside and still work on it, we are thinking to add on to the side and extend the length to get a rig inside. Lookin forward to possibly meeting up with whoever can go

Good Afternoon, Got the fender repaired and ready for paint. Now need to remove the hood, sand and prep the rest of the hood for paint. Need to buy a new amber light housing, I'm upgrading the headlights to HID's so will do all that at the same time because I'll change the signals to LED.
