I was just sitting here, drinking coffee and cogitating.
The title of the thread is so appropriate. It is a Total Rebuild from the new front bumper of the Tot'r to the new bumper on the TH. And everything in between!

Good Evening, Gordon, yup that about sums it up . I've decided its too cold to do large scale bodywork, at least for a while. Will start back in welding the rear body tomorrow.

Terry I remember one load I took with my old Jap Freightliner up to Boston, Sally was with me and as I crested a hill on I-86 at the CT/ Mass line the center plate of the clutch just ripped out! It was freezing out and I just coasted down the hill to the exit. Was a International Dealer there, had them tow me to their shop and argued with them for hours, as they said they couldn't get a new clutch and wanted to put a $200 rebuilt one in. I told them no and had them tow me down the road to a lot and put a new one in . Luckily my buddy was doing the same run and dumped his container and came back for mine, the company wanted me to let them send a tractor up to get the container and would have back charged me for the load! My buddy took Sally back to Jersey , bought the new clutch and brought me a tranny jack to complete the job. 10 hours later I was running but laying on that ice froze me good, rapped my right hand with a 5lb hammer getting the exaust crossover off, didn't know I broke my knuckles till I was done and trying to warmup in a motel room, hurt like hell in the AM, Sally had to shift that 13 spd going home! LOL! Bobby

Terry,
Hope that the weather softens for you soon. At least you have things that you can do even though you will freeze your(fill in the blank) off.

Good Morning, Bobby, I'm with rail, we all have similar backgrounds I guess that's why we have settled here together. Frank, Yup, at least I can bundle up and weld ect. I can't do body work with gloves on, I need to feel what I'm doing. Rail, March and the beginning of April can be so unpredictable here, one day 80* next day snow, they have been saying below normal temps for a week or so with intermittent rain and snow showers, so we just switch gears. Rail, Temps around here the third week of April will be chilly at night, average temps are 61* and 39* at night, that's here near Albany, NY.

Terry, we will just have to see what the weather brings? That sounds nice to me, high 60's to low 70's in the daytime, and 40's at night!! Purrfect!!!
MK, that Semi is over the top, for sure! I was looking at one similar to that one before I got out of trucking! That one with the big slide-out is Wow! That would be tough pulling a 53' trailer around delivering to casino's though! Rail!
