Tim, no wheel well blowout. A construction cone jumped out from the side of the road and attacked the wheel well trim. I do not think TXDOT pays these cones a decent wage and some get vengeful. Trying to put in a picture.

Looks like a clear case of safety cone fighting back in self defense !

Marine Tex might be a good choice for that , can you get to the under side of that hole ?

Good Evening, Frank,Tim, Thanks. Ron, is that plastic or fiberglass? Popeye looks like it would come off. Worked on several projects today nothing exciting.

Yes, I can get to the back of trim, in a fashion. Trim on other three wheels will come off, but on this one a PO has melded the trim for the wheel well with the trim that goes at bottom under entry door. I can detatch the portion that is broken to repair, just not take it all the way off and repair it on a work bench. But it is doable. Will look at it after I get back from Oklahoma Kansas trip. This might be a project best left until after summer heat departs. I think it is fiberglass, anyway it will get repaired with fiberglass.

Frank, you appear to be one of those fellows who never lacks for projects to keep him busy. Not sure where you acquired your skills but it would seem you have mastered many. I have known but few, in my 65 years of life, that have your ability to take what is available and turn it into a desirable, usable end product.

I have recently restored a gutted, throw away 18ft camper trailer, used as a storage unit, to a livable unit for a young homeless guy, with a 400.00 budget using salvaged parts and lumber and interior furnishings a donor from the local wrecking ward. It was not a show piece, although I would be happy to have it as a weekend camper up on the river, but the guy is comfortable and has a fully functional home that he is proud to say he helped build himself. Loved the project and the cause.

Good luck on your future endeavors and may you stay in good health so that you can complete them all.

Ron - that looks to be an extremely unfortunate turn of events. If the cone would of hit a few inches farther back you would only have had some paint repairs.

I agree cones are vengeful. But they are not treated very well. They are dropped from the back of a truck, kicked into place, thrown around and left to whatever weather passes by without any breaks. We are really lucky that there is not a cone uprising and fortunate there is just the occasional cone the jumps out. Just wish it would have happened to a truck with a steel bumper instead of your coach!

Welcome Seastang.

^^^^ we don't seem to have killer cones but Killer Pot Holes.
Terry
I swear I meet you twin today in a Manards parking lot builder wise. I dropped Joe off and I went to park the 64 and saw this in the far reaches of said parking lot. So cool I can't upload more pic's so will try another post. Its a old International School bus, he dropped the sides 3 feet for basement storage, he has a pull out grill, the ac unit slides out of the other side just like a slide does. He gave us a tour and it was so cool all led lights. The taillights were so neat chromed Leds all out side lights were LED"s except headlights but they were chromed also. Great work Just like yours Terry. Thanks for sharing your passion.
I told him about irv2.com and the forums here so I hope he come's and enjoys the site like all of us.
I'll try to up load the other Pic's.
Tim

won't let me upload other pic, This bus was so neat,
Going to try and get to mine tomorrow Oyea
BIRTHDAY BOY,
Tim

Tim,
Happy Birthday bro, hope that you have a wonderful day. Thanks for sharing, that looks like a nice converstion.
Seastang,
I thank you for compliment, but I think that you are directing that to Terry, he is the one with all the skills. I have done my share of making something from nothing, but nothing of the sort that Terry has done. Welcome to the forum, we look forward to hear more from you in the near future.
Frank
