Hi Spritz, Thank you!!, sorry to hear the temps dropped so fast, you just can't prepare for it. We aren't expecting snow until maybe sunday night. working hard right now trying to get all we need out of the donor to continue to work on the TH after cold hits.

Terry, you need to keep the roof nice & smooth to make it easier to shovel snow off of it.

HH, I'm hoping I don't need to shovel the roof, (I use a broom) on a roof. Hopefully by the time I get solar on it I can winter where it don't snow.

A few posts back you were talking about a hot water bypass to get the hot water flowing and not waste water.
The system I've seen uses a 1/4" line teed off the hot water supply at the hot water faucet. The 1/4" line dumps into the fresh water tank. The control valve is a sprinkler system valve. You could run the 1/4" bypass line from several faucets back to a manifold at the tank. Then just put the electric valve between the manifold and the tank. Just use a momentary push button switch at all the faucets to bypass water until it gets hot.
I've been following your progress and am in awe of your craftsmanship.

Hey Harley - I read the entire thread the last 2 days and am really enjoying it. I'm wondering what part of Upstate NY you're in. I was born in Glens Falls and spent summers on Lake George before my dad was transferred to Denver. I still have family in the area and an everlasting love of the Adirondacks.

Can't wait to see the finished product!

Good Morning All, Thanks so much, Kix, I will have to look into this, I just think something like that would save so much water, (as long as I can remember to push the button!) Bondad, I live 40 miles west of Albany, towards Oneonta. I hauled alot of pulp wood to the mills up there. We got everything off the donor yesterday, I think I can even use the the black and grey water tanks, the flange for the toilet unscrewed the only thing I may need to do is extend the inlets.

Hi, Spritz, yep we are about an hr away from Troy, we going thru the area quite often when we go to Bennington, Vt. We ride motorcycles up there for "breakfast" couple times a yr. great place called Poppa Petes, nice small restaurant with a great owner.

Well with the onset of colder weather we have moved inside on the TH, here is an empty palate, have to start laying everything out, DW has picked out the floor (special order go figure) so have to find out how long till that comes in. The piping on the floor is the water system w/the pump. This is out of the donor 5th wheel, (looks like it should work )
