Popeye - do pirates wear arrrrrrrrgyle socks to show solidarity? Just had to add that. Or do pirates just wear them to show membership with the pirates club? If so I should stop wearing mine because I am not very good at the pillage and plunder skills. We have pirates on the North Saskatchewan River, at least there is a song by Captain Tractor about them. But they are a secret closed society and not taking members.

They just sing about it but if it is on the internet or in a song it must be true??? LOL I have driven by the area they sing about and have not seen any pirates but that was during the day so they likely were still sleeping from their previous nights pillaging.

Well spent the day doing anything and everything, sons truck still sitting on the broken trailer, found an entire other truck for less than what new parts are going to cost, but good part is it will fit on one of my trailers, but in the mean time I figured I better get my old car trailer out that has been sitting in the weeds for ooooh four years or so. Tires are shot of course, brakes are bad, and needs new fenders. Well I have a set of axels that are from the original 5th wheel, the brakes are like new and the bolt pattern for the backing plates are the same , bad part is they have the open center wheels and hubs , good part is my hubs are the same size, bad part is they are VERY rusty from sitting, good part is I still have a brake lathe so I can turn them, everyone still following along ? so in my SPARE time that I have so much of I will start putting that back together, oh and did I mention that I got a deal on four tires and rims?, (rims will fit the TH) tires will fit the car trailer for 50.00 for ALL four . the tires are a little older but this trailer doesn't go far so they will be great. So that's my day.

You know, I really don't think there is one Terry. It's more like he has 4 "twin brothers" pitching in and helping.

If that's what retirement is going to be like, maybe I will just keep working.

Terry,
2 more great videos on the PU rebuild, along with an excellent job doing the actual work. After all that, the rebuilding the car hauler will be, as they say chump change, lol.

Good Morning, CW, I do work harder now than when I was "working" but now I can stop when I want to . Thanks Frank, yup the car trailer is easy. Well got home late last evening from picking up the parts truck for my son's truck repair, it was a "little" heavy but the restored PU handled it very well, it was an hour and a half away.

Good Morning, Busy day yesterday, stripping the donor truck of the parts needed to repair the "good" truck, will be continuing today. Had to order some new parts to replace some parts that should be replaced while your there. We kicked off one of our next projects, it will relate to some rv suspension's.

Very good info on the video for someone that is not familiar with the braking systems on these trailers. Is your son helping on his truck? Or is Dad being Dad and taking care of it for him while he works ,lol?

Hi Frank, Nope, son is doing 80% of the work on his truck, he was my shop foreman and is a great tech, got burned out doing it in the shops that he went to after we sold the shop most shops are just about get it in and out and not about the little extras that make a good repair a great one, guess I spoiled him in our shop, LOL. So he's on the road working on foreclosed homes, without the truck he don't work. I'm just the support team, cleaning parts grabbing tools ect. While we are at it since the wheel bearing is off we are replacing the U Joints and the bearing on the opposite side too, no since in taking chances just do it all and be done. Speaking of that gotta get with it.

Sounds good Terry, and you are right about the preventative replacement of the parts while you are there.
