Hi Charles, The actual AC units are the same from what I have seen, what makes them one or the other is inside on the ceiling. The grill on the inside is the intake and the out going into the ducts is boxed with the duct openings into the box and sealed. Sooo long story short, it would be possible to convert to ducts by building a grill to cover the opening inside which would divert the air. The advantage to ducts, (and one reason I'm doing it) is the ceiling rafters are approx. 4 to 6" so you can add insulation above and below the ducts, making a well insulated ceiling where most of the heat from the sun would be.

Terry,
Thanks. Another advantage of ducted units that I have noticed: during my search for a used Class A DP, I have been in units with ducted and non-ducted AC's. The non-ducted ones were a lot noisier. Since this will be home-away-from-home, and we like peace and quiet, ductwork is preferable.
The AC is just one of many considerations. The information is good to know. Being able to re-use the existing units saves a lot of $$$.

Good morning all!
Terry have you seen some of the even newer units where both the output and the intake are ducted? They are an entire new level of peacefull. Very nice.
You maybe able to recreate that with your unit if you have enough duct material available and build a return plenum.
Just a thought.
L.

Good Morning, Well rained overnight but gave us a window for a few hours, so I installed the rear ceiling vent. Video will follow as usual.

Terry,
I have been thinking about replacing the old powered vent in the bathroom of Miss May. Seems easy enough with your video.
Have also thought about adding power to the one in the kitchen. A Fantastic fan I think.
Nice video. Lynne

Good Afternoon, Thanks Frank, Lynne. Lynne, Hardest part is getting to the screws to take them out thru all the putty. The fantastic fans are really nice, we have one in the garage of the TH, there are several different models some with thermostats, rain detectors, all sorts. Well weather is starting to cooperate, so we cut the hole for the AC unit and getting ready to build the trusses for inside.

Can't wait to see what you are going to do to duct the A/C and install the unit.
