Hi Bill, LOL, nope no snow plow on this one, I still have my old truck that has 300,000 on it that has the plow setup. It will now be the permanent plower, I won't have to remove it once it goes on for the winter. Used to take it off so I didn't beat up the front suspension. Should be picking it up by the middle of next week, waiting for all the paperwork to come in, the dealer just got it on the lot, and a friend that drives by saw it come in, and told me. It would not have lasted long, (lol and it didn't I guess) found out it came originally from NH.

Great find Terry. Looks to be in great shape.
Are you going to hang a plow on it? Just asking.
I was looking for a truck like that for us, but no luck and most used were so close in price to new.

Sorry, you were posting about not putting a plow on the new truck at the same time I was posting. Too nice to be a plow truck. Congrats again on the find.

Congrats. You’ll be happy with the LB7, but it does have its quirks. Injectors can be an issue, they are located under the valve covers. A cracked body can fill the crankcase with diesel fuel and seize the engine.
There’s also no fuel pump. So leaks in the fuel system can lead to problems with prime.
Feed it good fuel. Keep up on maintenance. And she should be a nice truck for you.

Hi ryder77, Thanks for the info, yes I know about the quirks, the injectors where changed under the GM recall, also the fuel filter canister, don't know yet on the water pump, their prone to failure too. I've done all sorts of diesel work and complete rebuilds of engines. A buddy just told me he has a set of brand new injectors and glow plugs so I've got extras!

That’s good then. Make sure the injectors are quality Bosch units, not cheap knockoffs. It’s a big job.
The water pump is cam driven. You need a flywheel tool to hold the rotating assembly while changing the water pump.
Glowplugs aren’t that much of a big deal. A couple years ago my glowplug module failed on my LLY. It left me with no working glowplugs. The truck sat for several days in 20* weather and still started on its own with no working glowplugs, no starting fluid and no block heater.
I actually have a video of it starting up. I didn’t believe it myself.

Terry,
Mine was an 03 also, and I love it, yes there were some quirks, but no cat, no Egor etc. So they just run better. I added a lift pump and extra filter0, made a big difference. Mine has 120k plus, gave it to Rita's son.

Hi Frank, I thought yours was an 03, thought about a lift pump too, have to look into it.

Nice red truck.

We just got back from our weekend of camping. Best of luck with your new toy. I'm sure you will have fun customizing it to make it your own.
