Yup, that's a good idea, I've seen that happen, until it comes apart it might be possible that could be the case here too.

I have one of those LB7's that I bought new. You are right about injectors. I have had to put in 3 sets in 17 years.
This last set was installed by the dealer and they seem to be the best so far.
I have heard of SAC45 injectors that should eliminate the problem.

Jmaotto, wow, that's probably the most that I've heard in one truck, how many miles?

151,000. The first set went at 1700 miles. The truck is running great now.
It is garage kept with no rust. We use it to pull our 5th wheel. Still looks like new and that is the only repair except for a couple of light bulbs.

That's good to hear that it's running good now for sure! I like the way these trucks are set up, all brands have their quirks, (some more than others!) When we had the shop it just seemed that the Chevy had less. I had been looking for a truck to replace the 1500 chev that has 300,000 miles on it, (still is my plow truck) just couldn't justify a new one, the local Chevy dealer has the exact same truck, only new.......74,000.00 dollars! No way!

I had the same truck. Bought it new in 2003. Best truck I have owned. I did have the injectors replaced once under warranty. It was a towing machine.

Chargerman, nice! Well we're kinda cleaning up around here from the latest snow event, and we got a package, my new to me truck is higher than my old one so we found a tailgate ladder, always there and safer than an old crate or step stool Click image for larger version

Thanks Frank! Getting too old to jump! Next project was a phone holder, really hate the one's that you buy in wally world ect. So I found this company that makes mounts specifically for the vehicle it goes in , and for the item your trying to mount. Installed it today, seems to be very well made, holds my phone secure.Click image for larger version

Trucks

We are on our third Ford truck. Each one has been higher than the previous one. DH has a portable folding step stool that was given to us in very good condition. I don't even try to get in the bed of the truck. We had fun putting all the accessories on our F250. We are ready for winter with new front brakes, new battery and new tires. Loving the heck out of our four door model. It gives us a very quiet ride..almost like a car. I hear you on the price of new trucks. Here in Niagara Falls you can get a fixer up house for less than the price of a new truck. Good used trucks are out there. I searched for six months before I found the right one for us. Love the folding ladder on your truck.

Terry, like your mods to the truck. Like you I cannot hop in and out the tall box on the Ram so I got a folding 3 step ladder at Lowes. Helps hooking and unhooking fifth wheel as those wide hips make it tough. Where did you find that tailgate ladder?

Good Morning, Tim, JR, I got the tailgate ladder on Amazon, it's a Traxion 5-100 Tailgate ladder. Before I forget, the device holder company is ProClip. Hi Sam, I also have a step stool that I was using, to me it was sliding around in the back of the truck, and wasn't as sturdy as I would like. The 4 door is very handy for sure, I might be making that area into a fold up/down bed, for the times I am hauling long distance.
