You have already discovered the answer.
The LEDs use much less power.
Current 10 ga is overkill , probably even for the old stuff.
10ga rating is 30a
I'd be happy to see 10ga on all circuits . Except battery + possibly solar.
Replace those lights and don't worry about your wires.

AFAIK wire ins. color is not consistent (or important).
But if your rig has some system and you are adding wires .
I'd stick with it for simplifying future projects/repairs into the wiring.

You will be happy with the LED conversion, power consumption is much less. Made a large difference in our old coach when we converted. Great for dry camping which we often did when traveling cross country.

Our Tiffin came with all LED's.

Doing some wiring on the WGO. They use two colors: yellow (hot) and white (ground) but have a code about every 3 inches on the wire. Downloaded the wire chart. 36 pages single spaced! Good thing is they tell you the beginning and the end for many things. "Switch to pump" so if you know where the switch is and the pump the wire goes between. However if they say "pump to ground" there is no idea where the ground is connected so it can be some hunt and find.

Thanks for the wiring answers!

Thanks for the assist, guys.

I will stay with the stranded, 10 ga.

I don't want to hijack your thread, Terry. So a further discussion of what I am doing is over on my thread. The following link takes you directly to my response.

Thanks! This is a pretty simple build, hardest part is putting a straight (plumb) addition to a not so straight rough cut post and beam building I built 40 yrs ago, LOL, I wasn't so particular back then! Popeye, the one thing I dislike the most when using ladders is moving them!! So I have alot of them positioned all over that way I don't spend alot of time and effort in moving ladders, I'd hate to see how many I'd have if this was a BIG job, LOL

Terry, I see that in black and white!!!! Sheesh!

I know you are determined, get a little done here and there, and go hard when the weather has a opening sounds like a plan to me.

Wish you were here. Lynne and Jerry ordered a lift kit for the tracker,,,,, we have a project coming our way around Friday or so. Should be a 1 day'er!
