Willing to help until it gets cold. DW says once the temps fall below 40 we have to bug out and go south. She says why would you buy a moving house only to move it where the cold is? I said uhhh snowmobiles? She threw something at me.

Jay, I agree with Patty, no more of the fluffy white stuff for me. A couple nights at or below freezing is plenty enough for me.

Just saying, if you two were to move south for the winter you could ride your bikes year round. And take care of projects at home where the weather is better.

Hi guys, Tim, the original owner, was leaving for a trip across country, ( this was a yr ago) he was having trouble with the genset, not staying running ect. so the tech that worked on it said it was going to cost like 200.00 to diagnose the genset and he didn't have time so had a new one (bigger too) installed. I looked at it just now looks like the carb needs cleaning, I have had it running but won't stay running. HH, nothing that I would like better than to go south for the winter, DW has a few more yrs. before retirement so need to figure something out.

I'm retired, I don't do weather under 32 degrees very well anymore.
My Apartment (MH) on wheels is down for a rebuild as well.
And I don't speak New Yorkian!
Uh!
Gimme a minute, I'll think of more!!!!
Oh, you can carry your guns here in Texas too!

Yea, if it were rolling I'd offer to let you use my shop here in warm Texas to finish it. All 3000 square feet of it.
I've got a guest house above the garage you can stays in while we finish it. But, you're gonna need that knee working to climb the stairs to it.

Then we could park all the helpers rigs out here by the shop and go ride scooters when we all get the notion! I've got almost 4 acres of yard. Oh, and a private runway behind me I can get you guys with airplanes on, should you want to drop in for a visit. (My Neighborhood Private Runway.)
New Fairview Airport. AirNav: 7TS0 - Fairview Airport

But, I'd better warn you. We'd end up building those slides.
Not to mention you'd need to budget a lot of gas money for the Harley.
A lot of cool places to ride to from my house.

Just for starters.
Not far from me is the Pig Trail in Arkansas, Skyway Drive in Oklahoma! Three Sisters down near Luckenbach TX, Big Bend, also in TX. Riding across the Pecos is a cool ride too.

And if you don't mind riding across West Texas there's the Mountains in New Mexico and Colorado that are a days hard ride from Rhome.

ANNNNNDDD there's Dallas and Fort Worth with all their playgrounds to play at. The FW Stock Yards are FUN, if you like playing Cowboy and all that. We've even got a Pro Hockey Team! Go Figure!

But plan on being finished by August 1st. Because that's when the Heater comes on! And all us Texans head for the mountains or the beach!
110 degrees is normal! If you go South or West it get's hotter!

JUST SAYIN!!!!

It's that wonderfull Obama Gas.
Make sure the "air circuits" are open when you rebuild it.
I clean a of of bike carbs out and most of the time it's not the jets clogged. But the tiny air holes that let the carb breath that are stopped up.

Squirt carb cleaner through all the little holes and make sure the spray comes through easy. Be sure to wear goggles for your eyes. Carb Cleaner doesn't tase good if it gets in your mouth, but will blind you if you get it in your eyes.

Always run the engines carb out of gas when you shut it down for long storage periods.

JMO on the genset, I'd replace the fuel & air filters first & see what happens.

Terry,
That's a common problem with the gas powered gensets, sitting idle with gas still in the carb. Run a double dose of stabil and squirt in carb to clean that part, then when it clears enough to start drawing on its own, hook line up to bottle with staybil in it and let run, It will clean itself out. Had to do this to a logsplitter at the park that was left from last year.
