The aftermarket can help you, only catch is you'll have to find a shop that is competent at doing a little fabrication work. Here's a cable and install kit from Jegs that should fix you up. Where it attaches to the factory shifter will take a little fabbing up, but the trans end should be simple.

TCI 850800 TCI Morse Cables

TCI 704400 TCI Shifter Bracket & Lever Kit

The shop you talk to will probably want to get different stuff but this will get you headed in the right direction.

Of course you could go with an entire shifter kit and mount it in the floor! Won't be the first one I've seen fixed that way!

I knew this was the place to go. No one else had any idea how or where I could find any way to fix this problem. From the picture should be realitively easy to adapt to my shifter. Many, many thanks.

My shift cable stuck and bent a couple of years ago, and I just called the dodge dealer. There was a dealer about 45 miles from me who had 5 of them. My part # 3641309 was $85.00 and fit just fine. Les

I don't have any company names right now, but there are companies that make cables on order. If you can't find a cable I can try to find a company name for you.
Used them several times when I was still working.

Problem solved. Have an old rotten '71Fan MH with a 318 Dodge engine. The shifter cable was exactly the right length and now I can shift!!! Anyone in the Dallas,Tx area that needs a good 318 engine&xmission, let me know-verry cheap. Ed
