You'd be better off seeing a trans shop and asking a service manager about a OD unit for your type of transmission. They make aftermarket OD units just for this purpose.
I did just that on our '88 Okanagon 17' Type B MH. It had a 460 with the trailer towing package so cruising at 60-70 put the RPMs' up pretty high. Problem was, it cruised really nice after spending some $3,000, but I still couldn't get much over 9 mpg.
