HEY EVERYONE HAPPY SPRINGTIME! I JUST PURCHASED A VIDEO SELECTOR BOX IT'S THE QUEST MODEL SOLD AT CAMPING WORLD. MY QUESTION IS HOW DO I HOOK IT UP TO TWO NEW LCD TV'S. ONE FRONT AND ONE REAR. MY RV HAS AN OUTSIDE PARK CABLE HOOKUP AS WELL AS A ROOF ANTENNEA. UP UN THE CABINET BESIDE THE FRONT (MAIN) TV IS A WALL PLATE WITH A SWITCH THAT TURNS A RED LED LIGHT ON OR OFF AND A THREADED MALE NIPPLE FOR A COAX CABLE TO CONNECT TO IT. THERE'S NOTHING HOOKED TO IT NOW THOUGH. COMMING IN FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE CABINETS LEFT OF MAIN TV ARE TWO COAX CABLES, AND COMMING IN FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE IS ONE CABLE SO THERE ARE THREE CABLES TOTAL THERE NOW. I KNOW THE ONE ON THE RIGHT GOES TO THE REAR TV BUT WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER TWO AND THE WALL PLATE CONNECTION W/ SWITCH?

PS THE VIDEO BOX CAME WITH A 12VOLT CONNECTOR BUT I WAS TOLD NOT TO USE IT BECAUSE MY RV ALREADY HAS A 12 V WALLPLATE???

Jim,

I apologize for the length ot this, but hopefully it will help you out.

Ok, let's start with the wall plate. That is your TV antennae signal amplifier. When the light is on the amplifier is working. This is the normal operating position. Sounds like to me that you might need to run a coax cable from the wall plate to the Ant IN connector on the back of the Quest switch box. However, this may also be an extra connection on the wall plate. You should be able to test this by connecting the rear TV coax to TV2 out. Put up your antennae and point it toward a TV station. Now connect each of the other right side cables one to the Cable IN, and one to the Sat IN. Now push the TV 2 Ant button, then turn on the TV2. See if you can get it to setup on a channel. If you do, the wall plate connection is working. Now press the TV2 Cable. There should be no signal. If there is this coax is coming from the TV ant also. Now press TV2 Sat. Again there should be no signal . If there is this coax is coming from the TV Ant also. If you have a signal coming from only one of these three coax cable, that is the one you want to hook up to the Ant IN connection. Remove the other cables.

Next you want to find the coax for your front tv. Chose any one of the remaining coax cables from the right or left side, and connect it to the TV1 Out connection. Turn on the front TV, and set the channel to be the same as TV2. Press TV1 Ant button. See if you get a signal at TV1. If not, label this coax No.1, Now disconnect that coax and attach another coax. Repeat this process until you find TV1 coax. This leaves us with 2 or 3 cables. One of these is the Park Cable, and it's hard to determine without a cable hookup. If you have a long coax that you can hook to the outside Park connection, you can then use a coupler and connect the TV ant cable to this long cable. Once this is done, connect one of the remaining coax cables to ANT IN. See if you get a signal on TV1. If not, try the other cables until you find the right one. Now attach the Park Cable to the Cable IN, then reattach the ANT cable to Ant IN. This only leaves you with hopefully one cable. Do you have an outside TV or a satellite dish on the roof? One of these two would be my thought on the extra cable. Good luck, and tell us how you made out.
