First post.
We bought our 2nd RV a few weeks back. It's an '89 Coachmen Leprechaun. It's got some issues, that I've been working on for two weeks. So, I guess it's got a lot less issues.
We had a '90 something Coachmen class A, that was 36 feet long. Bought it to drive out to California, to visit with my Father-in-law, and his girlfriend. We bought it, spent three months fixing all the problems, while watching the gas prices go through the roof. My father-in-law got sick, and we never spent our first night in it. Swapped it for a Mercedes suv.
Hopefully, we'll actually get to use this one.
Since it falls in the parameters, I guess I got an oldie.
I think it's 26 feet. Has a Ford 350 chassis with a 460. Has 36000 miles on the clock. I just finished fixing the step well, today. You could step on the extendable step, and have it flex downward, about 3". After I tore into it, I found out that the wood, in the step well was rotten. One of the carriage bolts was severely rusted, and the head was almost non-existent. In other words, the step was about to dump one of us, on the ground. Glad I went back and fixed it.
Every time I start working on these vehicles, though, I am amazed, at how chintzy some stuff is built. New,these cost an arm and a leg, of someone's hard earned cash. Put some quality into it.
Ok. So I thought it would be good if the grandkids could see the step.
