BJohnsonsv,
You have done a fine job, actually better than the factory did. Now you go use Frank and see what you want to change/add. 7 or 8 of us on here will be in Winterhaven this winter, if you can make it over there, we can share some interesting times.
Frank

Mirror Repair
I decided to paint and rebuild my mirrors and save some money.
The new ones were over 800 dollars.
I was able to complete the mirror portion for 36 dollars.
I clear coated them with multiple coats to protect them.
It wasn't really that hard to do in the end.
I then replaced the insert trim with black vs. the off white so it better offsets the new paint color scheme which I completed last fall.
My project for the day anyway.

Thank you! The plan is/was to avoid trouble down the road - i.e. (try to) do it right so it lasts. I fully expect to make mods and improvements. Maybe Winterhaven is a good destination as I begin to extend the miles from home after some "local" excursions!
(as to what I did today...)
Today I closed up/ wrapped the dash wiring harness with electrical tape in prep for dash installation. Last night I completed install of the Old Air retro A/C unit in the cab so I can get to work on the carpet

what I did today
I installed new sway bar bushings and thought it was going to be a big job but it all went very easy. I sprayed all the bolts with lube about a week ago and they all came out east with a air wrench.

Nothing exciting
Put away two bushels of laundry from our weekend camping. Put an ant trap on the floor. We have tiny black ants in the RV. Small amt. never had this before.Reglued some contact paper that had lifted on the inside of my entry door.

Were the mirrors themselves plastic or glass? What did you clear coat them with? I've experienced problems in the past with getting anything to adhere to glass in the long term. Hope your luck is better, but boy those mirrors do look a lot nicer with your TLC!

Today I experimented with some of those vacuum storage bags. They performed as advertised and now I have another half a cabinet available.
I'm still trying to pin down the cause for the lack of 500 RPM on top end of my Cat.

Could not stand the look of my dash, the PO put in a crappy looking wooden bezel that didn't fit. I built a new bezel out of aluminum, installed a new radio and fixed the dash. Looks and works better. I always seem to forget to take pictures as I go...oops
