Washed the front of the camper, but didn't wax it yet.

Did a troubleshoot on the landing gear not working? Disconnected the motor and hot-wired it to the battery. It worked up and down. I did a continuity test switch and it had voltage through it, maybe I'm missing something but I looked around and the wires just came off the switch go straight to DC power and the motor. New switch coming off eBay. It did however run faster directly hooked up than with the old switch when it worked.
The bump out quit working as it sat the past two months. Linda came and cycled the switch as I tested the circuits. We both heard a relay clink in one direction but only an intermittent ratcheting noise in the other. I went to where the control module was and she repeated cycling the switch and the noise came from the module. There was two relays, a fuse and a 20 amp circuit breaker on a printed circuit board on this module. The fuse and circuit breaked both tested good. New one coming from eBay as well. I'm nearly done fussing with it for the season. Other pressing things to do right now.

Side B

Today I got started pulling apart the other rear quarter of the motorhome. The first side was delaminated top to bottom about 12 feet forward from the rear cap. The driver side is about 2 feet wide. That doesn't mean a pass for me on the hard work. In fact, because the filon section that's delaminated being much narrower means I can't pull it as far away from the frame. It's much more difficult to clean up the aluminum frame, and measuring for the new luan is likely to prove a challenge.

I took out the bedroom furnaces today, as the gas Suburban one vents through the side there where I am working. Underneath was a colony of ants who seemed quite surprised I had just uncovered their domicile. Currently they've been relocated to a temporary holding facility known as my shop vac, while they await permanent relocation via the dumpster.

Nice job on the drawers, but what is the hinge for?

91 Nomad

just completed all electrical testing, installed a new sub panel and finally have my little Nomad plugged into shore power. I've installed a new Mach 8 cub a/c unit but haven't had shore power to do those tests.

When the draw is in, I flip the hinge down. This acts as a stop to keep the drawer from moving while driving.

Put the new module in and I now have a bump out that works. Spent some time removing the glue that held the old screen door gasket on. Will put the new one on later. Reorganized the from storage compartment. I found out when I went into the house for the day the switch for the landing gear came in the mail. Will install tomorrow.

Baby's got a new pair of shoes!

Today my Advance GL283A tires arrived via FedEx. I got my dual rear drive wheels off and to the tire store for the new rubber installation. They're now back on the rig and looking great! (Especially compared to the 21 year old tires they replaced!). Tomorrow first thing I'll take the steer tires in for the replacement. I am getting excited about taking it on the road soon!

After installing the new drive tires back on the rig, I mixed up some epoxy and laid in the last section of delaminated filon. Just as I was getting the last brace in place, mother nature let loose some of her fury. A major thunderstorm rolled in and is still dumping water now 3 hours later. I think I got everything tarped off just in time! If all goes well, tomorrow I begin grinding off the old roof coating(s) with a wire cup wheel on my grinder.

Installed a Magnetic Door Hold-open on the Bathroom Door, Filled the Propane Tank and the Water Tank in prep for the final trip this year. The next trip I will be fully retired next year so no more trying to fit a schedule to go some place.
