Well, I think I just made a deal with Uncle to buy his 1987 Holiday Rambler MH. Our 1987 Gulf Stream has been a good old MH. But Think we need to upgrade.

Well got her out of the yard. She started first crank. We had lots of snow I'm glad I supported the roof
Did notice some water damage so I checked the roof. I had a number of small cuts in the roof. Near an old poor repair. So I picked up some everbond and applied. I removed the old patch. Under it was a hole the size is a pinky finger. It was damp Glad I fixed it too. Now we should be nice and dry I think I am going to clean the roof and apply a top coat on it to get a few more years to save up the 4k to get a new roof

She drive home fine. Can't get the generator to start so will have a look at that this weekend. Check the fuel line.

I added a plug in at the end of the peninsula counter, installed pull out shelves in the pantry, changed all of the drawer slides to self closing, built shelves in the front of the toybox, built a ski rack in the basement, changed the old CRT TV for a LED TV.

Still on the to do list is replace the roof. While the roof is off I plan to install dimable LED potlights on several new circuits.

steel roof

yes. metal roof ad well. the whole building was made from left overs from 3 big projects here in town,a hotel. and `2 air plane hangers. horsetrading the labor for motor and tranny swap in my friends 69 chev half ton,and some cash . the soffitt and facia was all new. trusses were year old. and half price. windows cost me steak and lobster for 4. its the doors that are going to cost about $5000 installed. the neatest idea was from my wife. instead of having all that dead air space on the left side. why not build a Man Cave? so just got my Amazon 110 volt winch to operate the elevator I am building. the left side has a lean too for all the tools and air compressor and tire machine. local tire shops charge $40 for flat repair and $25 to change one over ? so bought a new tire machine in Nebraska 4 yrs ago for $950 ..paid for itself in first yr. but after my garage burnt down last November, had to pay these guys..so will find a used one locally or get another one this August on my annual trip to Ne.

Wow - man cave - supersize me!

I got an insulated 14 x 16 door from JD industrial (780 447-4331) for 2200. Install was 600 (friend of son) because I did not feel comfortable attempting it myself. Springs were really intimidating. Door fits and works perfectly. Really pleased.

olevangaurd - I made the mistake of telling my boss that "work" was a place to come and rest between weekends one time. The jerk took me seriously!

The reason I wrote though? You're thinking 5k for doors? That sounds like about double what I would expect, especially after being as resourceful as you've been this far?

A sturdy stairway leading to the upper deck?

Nice to see the progress. Makes the memories of the old one a little less painful?

Best of luck, -Al

It's took me three days but the Romadam is totally washed, top to bottom, front to back and the wheels are done also. Let the waxing begin! Have done one side already along with the black plastic trim. Grill is totally cleaned and new wipers put on today also. Had to special order them from O'Rielly. Found out the rear A/C cover has a cracked place on top so will have to either patch it or get new one. Camping world has them for $108 but the Camping World nearest me doesn't have a good reputation so may have to look elsewhere. Hoping it runs as good as it looks next week.
