YeeeOUCH! I'm glad I can sew and have an old (1918) walking foot Singer. I can't imagine spending much over $500 for upholstery... unless it's real leather, gilded with gold and silver... diamond studded.. etc. lol

Speaking of which I just might fire up the Singer today and do some zipper panels I've been putting off. Thanks for reminding me.

I've reached the 8th day of removing 30 year old under-seal & rust from the underside of our RV.

I still have another few days to go before I can say the job is done... but it'll be worth it.

I went out and sat down and admired how much fun these RV's can be! Then, I thought about how much work I've done and how much more needs done and got tired and went back in the house.

LOL! Seems like there is always a list.

To be an RVer, you gotta be a glutton for punishment as well as a good handyman to not break the bank.

Finished replacing the carpet in the bedroom. Butterscotch Oak flooring and matching trim. The only remaining carpet is some "wrap" they did on the box under one nightstand .... and the carpet inside some cabinets under the bottom drawers. No more dirt/dust/pollen collectors !!

Lucky you!!
Replaced the starter last year, $800 to tow ($0 to me, CoachNet paid it all). Starter and labor, just over $1,000 incl tax
Last weekend, new alternator, $424.00, incl tax, labor was mine!
4 Alcoa, 2 steel wheels and 6 tires, a little over $4,000 in 2011.
New 14,600# front axle to replace the OEM 12,000# one, paid for by Newmar in 2004.
Amish cooling unit for Dometic refer, about $600, and labor was mine again.
Replace the hide a bed with 2 LA Z Boy recliners, on sale still over $1,600.
New awning and paint repair, over $4,000 GMAC insurance paid it.
Replace TV with LCD and LED units, about $500, labor mine again. Still looking for a good way to latch the front TV.

Pulled large window in slide to install new butyl tape. Old seal was rubber gasket and barely overlapping body side panel in corners .... probably leaking. 6 windows to go ...

Les - the journey is your destination. Have a great time - you've made your new setup just right from stem to stern. Get pics and we'll oohh and ahhh in the usual places.

This is where we are headed. It's called Mirror Lake. 10 minutes away are some Hot Springs.
