Bumming Guys,
The color's that I thought would come close to a match is way off in the daylight. Went to 2 big box stores and picked out 6cans of other colors to see if they match any better. At this rate I might just have to have it painted professionally.
I'll take pic in the am.
Tim

Tim,
You might have to get the paint code and have it mixed for you, then get one of those sprayers that you pour the paint in, then pressureize from your air compressor and spray like a rattle can.

If you have the compressor, a touch-up gun is cheap at Harbor Freight and would work well for your application. If I were closer I'd drop mine off for you to use.

Even with waxing up the rest of the rear its not going too pass.
Frank,
I have the paint codes but thought the colors I bought would do it. Wrong
429, I used to have a sprayer but I never used it and gave it away about 20 years ago.
Raining today. I only have a week left to get ready too hit the road. I'm afraid I'll have to take her as is. Although the colors are off It looks a lot better than what I started with.

Tim it is not too bad. Certainly a lot better than it used to be. Going down the road at 60 no one is likely going to stand there and say "hmm - there is a difference". When you are parked behind us I will not sit there and point out there is a slight difference in the colors. Larry next to you used to be a painter. We can ask him for his opinion when both of you are in residence.

Tim, when I needed to paint the shower pan in my bath repair project, I needed to match the existing shower surround. I used tascoautocolor.com in Waco, Tx. They are in Texas, Tennessee, and Louisiana. They were able to match the color pretty good enough so that I could not tell the difference. There must be other paint supply places that can do that as well. And I have read that some of them can make up your new color and put in rattle cans for you. But like has been said, from 20 feet at 20 miles per hour, who will be able to tell.

Just my 2 cents -- you could always paint it the same on the other tail light section and make a design with the different color paint . It's an option if you can't get the right color.

Tim,
N ice Job on the repairs, it looks great, I wouldn't bum too much about the color difference, Ron and Gordon gave you a couple of very good ideas to match the colors. You can still take the color code to the local auto paint store and get the correct color and either spray it on yourself or have someone spray it for you You have the hard part already done.

steppingstone,
Great idea never thought about that.
I did find the color numbers.
Thanks Frank I think I will look for the colors in spray bombs I've had pretty good luck using them. Back in my working days we used a place a little south of mpls and u could take your paints to them and they will put in spray cans, I don't remember how many work stations I repainted close to 500
Ron did u put on clear on the shower stall?
Gordon,
I resent my request to The park again and so far no reply hoping its not a sign of things too come.

Yep I did Gordon everything AOK.
We dumped the blk tank and I bought a new taillight assembly for the PA I looked everywhere yesterday. I went to a local Fleetwood dealer and wala they had the one for the 82 PA $32.00 bucks. Not bad for something that is discontinued. Next time I will watch out with the grinder. Got my new zero gravity chairs today boy they are comfy. Looking into spray bombs in the right colors for the 82 PA at NAPA a little spendie but colors will be a little better.
I'm going to bed,
Night,
Tim

Roof

Spent two days prepping and sealing roof. Need another coat to look perfect. Looks kinda funny all bright and white. No more streaks (I hope), although the Rejex finish makes them easy to remove. Now the leak at the vanity and then a new fridge cooling unit and then.................

Tim, on the paint for the bath. I matched the paint on the shower surround and painted the shower pan. No, I did not put on clear. As far as I know, the shower surround is gel coat, not paint. I do not know what your PA is that you are trying to match, paint or gel coat. You said you got paint numbers so I am guessing you have paint?
