I ran across this interesting picture on the internet with no explanation.

I'm curious to know if anyone knows who may have manufactured this motor home and about what year that might have been. It looks like it may be a production model - not necessarily custom made.

It does resemble an Airstream. I know Airstream started building trailers in the 30's but I don't think they build their firt motorhome until about 1974.

Thanks 007,

I've been through that list before and couldn't find anything like this one.

The 1928 Road Yacht you referred to sure is interesting, however. Their ad recommended this motor home (or "house car" as they were called bach then) for "Family Weekends, Vacations, and Semi-Permanent Living". I can certainly identify with the first two, but as for "semi-permanent living", doesnt that description pretty much fit everyone? I've never known anyone to live more than that.

Robin M, I think they were saying not living in it fulltime. There is a lot of us doing that! I don't know if many did live out of them then?? I just wondered if they did live in them fulltime? I guess they did maybe when the stock market crashed! That was how the tincup Got started! We must have picked it up from our parents! Most of ours have been there and done that.
Now I still wonder what that neat look'in coach is??

Yep, I figured that's what it meant. I was just makin' fun of the language in the old ad. It's sometimes amusing to read old advertisements from 70 years ago or more. Some of the phraseology, if not the products themselves, seem very odd today. Interesting how language changes over the years. Never thougt I'd see it happen in my own lifetime, though.
