I think of my MH as my second home as in home on the lake, home on the beach, home in the mountains of course home on the range!

This is kind of what I was thinking of...
Clearly, camping is a state of mind. I like to backpack, and can camp in a hammock between two trees, with a tarp above me. My wife considers it camping if we are at a hotel with only 3 or 4 stars...
We most all know people who live in their motor homes. A full timer may be camping, but may not be as well.
Surely there are mobile homes, and often large parks of them, and they are not camping, they just live there.
Lastly, this Class A that I just got, and more specifically, those 40 foot DP units that are not uncommon, will not even fit into many 'campgrounds' that I have frequented.
So, while anyone can pretty much camp anywhere they choose, there are also those who simply live simply.

A number of years ago I picked up a new client. When he asked me if I knew where he was I told him that as I had driven by I had admired his camper. He looked at me and said, "At $1.8 million it's not a camper!" I gather that his was definitely in the "coach" category.

Camping: Our young family CAMPED without an RV. The kids now say we aren't camping in a class A.
Coach: Any motorhome bigger than your own.

While still spelled C-A-M-P-E-R in Massachusetts, it would be pronounced "Camp-ah" with the "r" dropped!

Well, as you ask the question the answer is easy.
A motor home has a motor.

IMO it would depend upon how you license and insure it.
If it requires a vehicle license plate and insurance it is a motor home.
If it requires a trailer license and insurance it is a camper.
If it does not require a license but can be insured it is likely a slide in camper.
If it does not require a license and it is not likely you can get insurance it is probably a tent.
When out camping the line between them is determined by the size of the lot.

It's whatever you want it to be. We interchangeably call our 40 ft diesel pusher a camper or Motor Home or RV. Probably since we have been through a pop up, pull along, 5th wheel, and Oh yea a tent. Yes, we still call it camping and a camper, but realistically what we do is NOT camping. But in the long run, who cares. Is a $10 million home, a house, a home, or a mansion? It has doors, floors, and windows just like my little ole S&B place. So have another cocktail around the fire, and don't worry too much about it. Life is good.

Well said. Although I think a 40 ft+ with lots of slideouts is more like a collapsible house, it really doesn't matter. I especially like the idea of another libation around the fire...
