Which converter ?

1996 21 feet class C , 30 amps connector,, Atwoood APC-45 converter
My converter seems to act on me....

I looked at the progressive dynamics converters...
They have the PD4635V 30 amps that has the 3 mode intellipower ....
Then there is the PD9130 30 amps model

Maybe some other one would do ,
Any advice ?
Because I have 30 amps cnnection ( cord) do I have to geta 30 amp model ?
Thanks
Dan

The converter amperage is based on the converted 12Vdc power it produces and not the input 120 Vac. Hence why a 45 Amp DC converter (APC-45) would be installed on an RV with 30 Amp AC system. So, while you can go with a converter with less amps, going larger should be avoided unless the DC wiring were updated as well.

The input cord is separate from your converter capacity.

It would depend on what loads you have and battery bank size that would drive the converter you pick. Generally speaking you would probably want to replace your existing one with one in kind, i.e. 45A.

Secondarily, there may be a model that's a form/fit replacement for what you have, simplifying installation.
