If I had to do this all over again, I think I wood have gone with a twenty some footer trailer and a 3/4 ton pick-up Something from the 70's, maybe even the 60's! Anyone ever wish that kind of change??? With the price of fuel and the prices of oil and gas and then the insurance. It almost more than you can afford with ssi! What I need is someone that knows what is in this coach and sale it and get another unit! Only problem is I'd have to have $20,000 to maybe break even. I guess I'm just ramble'in on but I wonder if any others have had the same ideas?

And yer wondering why I have a truck camper

. Part of the reason I have one is it negates alot of the other costs related to RVing.

Insurance - Since its cargo, it falls under the already paid for truck policy without needing any additional riders or add ons.

Registration - Since mines Vintage, its registration info sets it at the lowest registration fees for a 2 year renewel in oregon, $89.

Since I already own and use the pickup truck regularly, I have no extra motors to deal with, no extra drive train. If need warrants it I can leave it on the truck for periods of time and still be able to drive it to work and fit in a regular parking spot.

My fuel economy isn't that great with or without, but since the camper is paid for, all I need to invest in regularly for it is refilling the propane when it runs out.

Yep, Thats the way it is here in AZ. I pay 40 for two years on the coach and 31 for two years on the pickup.This is the second class a I've had but was look'in at trailers at that time too! I almost have this baby back together and now I'm having health problems again! I'm still wandering what big o'le mirror I broke anyway!! These last four years, If I had to do all over again would have said "The heck with it"! I'd still have insurance on the trailer as when we are not connected and away from the trailer, Things still could happen, Like Floods and stuff like that. The rv court that we stayed at in 2002, Had 3 foot of water on the court and they were almost 1/2 mile from the Santa Cruz river!! They ended up selling it and the people that bought it had to put in new wells and sewer and electric and they are still working on it and July is coming up fast. It was a family park,Now?? I know they are having to do a bunch of repairs on the office and they are going to have to put another swimming pool in and the shuffle board courts were shot too! I got about 6000, in damage that I've fixed all by myself.out of pocket too! I'm getting BIG insurance for this baby this time!! They are not screwing me again!! Next time the insurance company can do it for me! I hate what happened to our friends at Mountain View!! That was a nice court and quiet too! Nice people to deal with too! Its a shame!! Well I guess I will get off this thing and check the BP again! I still think sometimes we would be better off and then I get to look'in at the darn thing and remembering the times and all the sudden I'm in love with it again. Anyway Have a good one, Capt.Dan

This Love Hate relationship is gettig bigger. I am wondering if I will even finish the beast. I'm getting tired and not feeling well anyway. I'm looking at trailers and sale this beast to the highest bidder, Dan

Just take it in chunks, that's the best way. I'm onto my latest project, replacing the rear window with a permanent painted steel frame that has a 5000 btu A/C unit mounted in it. Finally going to have some A/C for the camper! YAY!

If I could feel better, I wouldn't mind but this body is revolting on me. I bearly got half of the work I wanted to and I'm going thru gallons of water, And it was 108 today!!

I don't know if it is the heat or if it is my body or both but I feel like a drained battery needing recharged! I need to put the plugs in and the distributer in and put the valve covers on and start the beast up. and Here I sit...

Get done what you absolutely must have done, then move to a cooler place. We're supposed to get up to the 90's this weekend. I think we need to find a higher (cooler) altitude! S GA is NOT the place to be in the summer. And I don't think AZ is either! 108!!!

I see Southwest Arizona has a heat advisory today as well. It will be 107 today in Las Vegas. I don't even want to go outside.

Yep we made it to 110!! And there is nothing even close to a cool down in the forecast.
They are talking about the monsoon. And there is no way right now as the steering winds are the wrong direction.But that should change Maybe next week. I'll let you know, Capt.dan

Ok, It runs!! Now comes the rest of the stuff. They are calling for the moonson to start anytime but they are still calling for 100's+ all next week! The only time I can really work on the coach is early morning and 3ish afternoon's on. Thats when it is coolest and afternoon is shady! I guess it is a keeper after all!

Did I say hot the other day? They are calling for 115+ this week!! Thats not HOT, thats He!! on earth! Wish I could get some of that webbing they use above the tents to camouflage them from the air. The military don't sell that at surplus anymore! Today I burnt my hands with the tools that were still seeing the sun! I melted a band-aid that was on my finger!! I wish I could find a way to keep things cool but that will only happen when I go north! and thats were I am heading! Later all!!Captain Dan
