It is with a sad heart that I received an email from Ken and Judy Hammett on the 24th of December letting us know that precious Colton has passed away...
Dear Friends & Family: We have sad news to report. Our precious 31 month old Colton died in my arms Tuesday, December 23 at Arnold Palmer Childrens Hospital here in Orlando, FL. Dove Funeral Home is handling his cremation for us. We will stay here til the 3rd as planned and hopefully we will have his remains back with us for the trip home. I can not face going into his empty room at this time so it is better for all of us to finish our stay here. He had RSV (the flu shot did not help this as were told it would) and Sepsis. He was a very sick little boy but he put up a good fight. His shunt was infected and needed to be externalized and the doctors did not think he would survive the surgery. Even if he did manage to survive it, his lungs were too far gone to sustain his life. I prayed to take his place but God had other plans. So he is spending Christmas in Heaven with our precious Kiley this year. You all remember we lost her on December 14, 2006.
A memorial service will be held in Mobile and Stone Mountain sometime in January and February.
Please keep all of us in your prayers......we really need them at this time.
God be each of you. Love, Judy, Ken and the other Angels.
a memorial tribute will be posted at a later date, but you are welcome to express your sentiments to the family by reply post on this thread

Ken,Judy and Angels: We're so sorry to hear of your loss, it seems like just yesterday that we enjoyed all the angels at the National rally in Perrin, I remember taking a picture of Colton and he laughed. We must remember that God works in mysterious ways and needed him for another purpose. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the angels. All our Love and we share your sorrow.

I am so sorry to hear of Colton's passing. This is a very difficult time for the loss of a loved one, but maybe God just needed Colton to be with Him this Christmas.
Our prayers go out to your family as we all grieve the loss of this precious child.

Ken and Judy,
It's hard to find the right words to comfort anyone who has lost a child. We do know that Colton was richly blessed while he had his time on earth with a loving and beautiful family. And of course, the blessing that he brought to you and the angels will stay in your hearts and memories forever. That is how one lives on with us until we can be together again for eternity.
How fortunate are we that we got to meet him and share a brief week of happiness with all of you at Perrin. We too, are now blessed.
May your precious family feel God's strength holding you up during this difficult time,
Mary and Richard Palmer
