Inyo Driver, Russ Tanner

I have very sad news. Russ Tanner (Inyo Driver) has passed away. His wife Mirna called to let me know, through her tears, how grateful she and Rusty were for the loving camaraderie and friendship of all. We all meant very much to them.
Dunner, please look for Rusty and give him a ride on the dunes. He'll give you a fine ride in the cab of Inyo in return.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Dave,
Maybe you can print out the condolences to give her...
even though I never met him in person, he was an interesting person to get to know online. I'm sure all train engineers can use a guardian angel like him... looking out over their shoulders when they are on a run... bad things sometimes happen in trains and the fellas who can't escape seeing it keep those memories in their mind forever...
RIP Inyo Driver... May you hear "Well done, Russ, that was a hell of a run!"

Mirna, our heart felt condolences on the passing of Russ. I would have loved to meet him and have him talk my leg off about trains.

My maternal grandfather was an engineer on the Erie Lackawanna for several years. He ran the old coal burners between Huntington, IN and Marion, OH.

May your wonderful memories help heal your heart.

Our sympathy to Mirna and family. Once a RVMutant always a mutant. Talked with Russ a few times, mainly cause I didn't know what a Inyo was. He set me on the right track!

Sorry we missed you here on earth. I was planning to stop to see you as we headed north for the summer. I guess we'll have to wait to meet you, but I sure enjoyed hearing about the trains you are so passionate about. I know Mirna, your train friends and all RVMs will be safe having you as their guardian angel. RIP Russ!

Inyo Driver, Russ Tanner

Never met Russ in person, but I knew Driver as an iRV2 poster. I am sure he will be missed at home and by his iRV2 friends.... Condolences go out with many ohms and good vides to his family and friends...

I also hove some PMs from Mike in my folder..... I miss Dunner's way with words, and I miss having his words of wisdom, and sometimes the appetite for a strong debate...

Now we will miss Driver as well.... RIP.

Mirna, Earlene and I are so sorry for your loss. Although we never met in person we were hoping one day we could swap stories. May Russ travel the rainbow to the great campground in the sky.

God bless.
