Many of us on irv2.com remember Ken and Judy Hammett, who traveled the country in their rv, with their "angel" children. The Hammetts have adopted and/or cared for several children who had little chance of a normal life due to disability, but gave each of them as joyous a life as possible. The Hammetts attended National Rallies between 2004 and 2008 and took the kids to Disneyworld every year in addition to all the other neat places they got to see!

Those of us who met these kids have truly been touched by angels.

Kenya Cherokee Myriah Hammett

Kenya Cherokee Myriah Hammett was born on July 18, 1996 and received her Angel Wings on June 24, 2011 at Egleston Children's Hospital. Kenya was a special Angel that God loaned to us for a short while. She lives forever in the hearts of all who knew her. She leaves to rejoice in her having lived, her parents, Judy and Ken Hammett, brother Shawnee and sister Kimberly Hammett all of Stone Mountain, Ga.; her brother Joey (Mandy) Boesen of Pace, Fl., sisters Melissa Wheat, Amanda (Geary) Gully and Andra Boesen all of Mobile, Al. and her paternal grandmother, Opal Hammett of Chattanooga, Tn. She was preceeded in death by her sister and brother, Kiley and Colton (EZ) Hammett. Her god-parents are Amanda and Geary Gully.

Kenya is much loved and missed by all her teachers, therapists, doctors and loving nurses who always cared for her and she truly loved all of them.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30 at 11 am in the Stone Mountain United Methodist Church, 5312 W. Mountain Street, Stone Mtn., 30083.

Colleen and I would like to express our deepest condolences. We attended at least 2 rallies with the Hammetts and their children. I believe that we saw them last in Branson, MO.
