Lost my Love of 61 years
I lost my beautiful wife Sherry November 24th 2016 on Thanksgiving day when she lost her 22 month battle with pancreatic cancer. She passed away at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Sherry was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life and now with her gone there's a great void in my life that can never be filled.
During our life together we enjoyed many wonderful adventures in our RV, and today, I carry memories of those adventures and my 61 years with her in my heart.
Though Sherry's no longer with me, I take come comfort knowing a small part of her still lives on today in our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In her memory, I plan leave her name in our signature on the forum.
My best Regards to All forum members, and may God Bless those who have lost loved ones, and grant them the strength to carry on with their lives.

Words don't have enough "oomph" to convey sadness at these moments. Best wishes & cherish the memories.

So sorry. I can't even imagine what I would do. I tell her that I'm older and I get to go first because I couldn't bear losing her.

Jim... My most sincere condolences on the loss of your wife Sherry. No words can truly express the sadness that can be felt in your words even though we've never met. My own parents were blessed enough to have 70 years and five weeks of wedded life together when my mother passed away. I can still clearly recall the time following when caring for my dad and the sadness that he experienced.
Jim... I've worked with folks for years on a daily basis who've lost loved ones...both expectantly and totally unexpected. I urge folks to keep their loved ones' alive by continuing to speak about them as your wife had a big part in helping you to become who you are today. Keep Sherry alive, don't be afraid to cry over your loss as tears are a "show of strength NOT weakness"! I want to urge you though to just as importantly remember to "smile and laugh" about the good times and funny quirks that made Sherry who she was in life. Please Jim, I've never met you, however I have to believe that Sherry would want the best for YOU and her FAMILY...keep moving forward, you'll see her again...continue to make her proud!
If you're able, continue to travel if you can and share your life experiences with others who may need your experience and comfort so that they may find it a small degree easier to move on after their own loss. We are meant to get through life together Jim...NOT ALONE!!!
I thank you for your sharing AND your courage to share your loss. One thing I've learned over many years of trying to help people is that "there are an untold number of fantastic people in this world that we never get a chance to meet"...but wait...sometimes I do get a chance to meet them because you've taken the time to share a small part of Sherry and yourself with us...for that, I am truly thankful!
My good thoughts and prayers go out not only for you Jim, but also the countless others who enjoy/have enjoyed the wonderful world of RV'ing.
All the Best Jim....Keep going Jim...Sherry would want that!!!

You have my deepest condolences for your loss, and I completely understand and seriously doubt if that struggle will ever end.
The loss of my wife has left a void in my life that can never be filled.
God Bless and safe travels
