Marc Budge left us this morning (1/2/09) at his home with the love of his life Marsha by his side.

He fought a couragous battle with cancer that you can read about at "The Budge Family Blog spot"

The arrangements are pending at this time. But when that information is complete either Sandy or I will update this post.

Marc and Marsha were "Original" Texas Boomers. (Attended the FIRST gathering at Guadalupe RV Park in Kerrville, Texas in October 2000 where the Texas Boomers (as we know it today) was formed.

They did not camp much with the group after that gathering in Kerrville, but used their rig often. I had the pleasure of camping with them many times. Every one of these trips were memorable to me.

Marc seemed to constantly have a smile on his face and was a very fun person to be around. Further down the thread I'll post some of the memorable gatherings Marc and I put together. (And pranks we pulled on folks )

I am sure Sandy (Madam Boomer) will post about the time Marc and I (aka Charlie Caniver and Reel Rat) gave her a pleasant surprise at a Easter Texas Boomer gathering held at Rayfords Crossing.

I will miss my friend dearly.

Marc Radke Budge passed away peacefully at his home in Oak Ridge North, Texas on January 2, 2010. Born on September 19, 1951 to James and Priscilla Budge, he was a former resident of St. John, Kansas. On May 7, 1977, he married his wife and soul mate, Marcia Charlene Carleton. He was preceded in death his his father, James, and his mother, Priscilla, and step-son, Scott Travis.

Our beloved Marc is also survived by his son Steve and his wife, Julie, also of Oak Ridge North, Texas, brothers: Craig of St. John, Kansas, Lance and his wife Donna of Canyon Lake, Texas, Neal and his wife Hope of Pretty Prairie, Kansas and sister Jill Bowden and her husband Byron of Wichita, Kansas. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren, Brayden, Anne Marie and Abigail Grace, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Marc was loved by all who knew him and he had a sense of humor that could make the Grinch laugh. Marc worked as a natural gas control operator for many years and then started Budge Home Inspections and took great pride in that success. He was also a former firefighter and Fire Chief in St. John, Kansas.

He loved to travel with Marcia, and especially loved to take the grandchildren camping in their "Land Yacht". He also took great pride in being head yell leader at Brayden's Little League baseball games. He greatly enjoyed the meetings of the local Power Stroke Diesel groups that he was a well known member of.

A celebration of Marc's life will be held at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive, the Woodlands Texas on January 7, 2010 at 10:30am with a gathering for friends and family following the service at the Knights of Columbus Hall 29327 South Plum Street, Spring Texas.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dept of Neuro-oncology. Please specify memorials to be for Glioblastoma Multiforme research in memory of Marc.

Marc will be missed by many. Marc did not live too far from me when we lived in Conroe and we would stop and visit or he would drop by my house. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone that needed help.
