Now that a new year has begun, has your thoughts turned to up coming vacations? Where will you travel this year? have you started making reservations yet?

I may have already said it, but Labrador beckons.
From home to St. Barbe, ferry -> Blanc Sablon, QC drive & tour -> Cartright, ferry -> Happy Valley, drive via Churchill Falls, Labrador City, Wabush, Fermont, QC -> Baie Comeau, ferry -> Matane and maybe sprint to North Sydney, maybe go around the end of the Gaspe Penninsula, then to North Sydney -> ferry to Port aux Basques. Rates in effect when I checked = $326.91, but I'm going to budget $450 to include meals &, &, &. The most costly ferry is the Cartright to Happy Valley one.
It's a good excuse to go solar.
Hey, Brad, you coming down??

just returned from camping during xmas and new year's.
it was cold, windy, snowing, with icy roads.
can't wait to get back out there.
work will restrict the duration of camping but still hope to get some short trips out.
will stay close to home for these quick get aways.

Yes Lynne, there is a huge probability I'll be back this summer. Gotta get another dose of "God's" Country. LOL Not sure if I'll be there with a new Class "C" or my old 2005 5er with a new T/V. This year I'll be bringing my easel, paints, and brushes take a lot more time doing the things, vacations are made of. I would especially like to boondock along the west coast near Cow Head, Gros Morne area. I haven't completed my tour of The Irish Loop, so that may be in order as well.

Cow Head is in Gros Morne National Park. I don't think I would try boondocking within the national park. Green Point is the least expensive, no services, none at all (well outhouses & a cooking shelter that you can't drive to). It's kind of in the middle of the part north of Bonne Bay.
Cow Head is not too far from the edge of the park. I'd bet there are places where you could boondock north of that. Price it all out. One should do some both north and south of Bonne Bay.
& naturally, I can think of lots of scenic places north and south of there.
How much will you bet that you will find places I haven't been?
Other, let's see: L'Anse aux Meadows viking site, Plum Point, Flowers Cove, Penguin Arm, Red Indian Lake, Serpentine Lake (4wd req.)
