Well, we got a nice dump of snow here in Edmonton this weekend, so much for camping in April! Looks like it will be the May long weekend and it can't come soon enough for me! The big local RV show a few weeks ago was just a big tease!

Jennifer:

I was just thinking the same thing. Last year we were out at winter camping at Elk Island the second week of April.....I think that this year will be a little later. Might not be able to dig the MH out till middle of April. Oh well only a few more weeks.

Have you made reservations for the May long weekend? I have heard that Miquelon is closed this year for renovations and Wabamun may not be open with the oil spill in the lake.

Hi Don, we do not have reservations yet, I believe most places don't start taking calls til the first business day in May. Miquelon IS closed for the season ( one of our closest fave places). I have not heard about Wabamun. I was craving some "camping" a few weeks ago so we took a drive out to Wabamun and snuck in the back way to check it out and take a walk around. About half of the campsites have been upgraded to power sites. I do not think it will be ready to open in May.
Got big plans for the summer? We hope to get to MT Kidd RV park in Kananaskis for a week.

Jennifer:

Major plans are Vancouver Island for two weeks, and as much RVing as we can get in elsewhere. Managed 99 nights last year, hope to beat that this year.
