BC Health Coverage

I sent an inquiry to the BC health Authority and got this reply.

You are entitled to travel for up to 24 months once every 5 years.
You should send in a letter advising us of the dates

Has anyone ever heard of this or is it something new. Anyone have any experience with this. One would still need to have the additional US health coverage while traveling in the USA, but for traveling in Canada, this should do the trick.

Yes - we heard about it, when we moved from AB to BC (Bring Cash), because we wanted to know the difference to AB. We wanted to keep our cash for later, when on the road.
In one of the CND RV Mag I read, that one BCer even gets a gas receipt b4 he leaves BC and right away in the Yukon. Same in reverse when they come back, just as proof for the 30 day rule out of province.
Enjoy the trip around and south.... we will do about the same next year, with a stop at NEWMAR for a normal check-up! Maybe even go to the 2010 iRV2 Meet in AZ, if we can??!!!

im not critisising (spell error) but i wish americans who want gov. health care would understand some of the hoops cdn,s have go through for their health care . best wishes on your holiday travels
