Sounds good John! It is nice to be near the river (as long as it stays where it is supposed to be), we were through there a couple of years ago and comented that it looked like a good area to stay in. My neighbour used to go to the Toledo Bend area for the winter cause he is a real fisherman....
Lots of fun doing the reno's I'll bet. Anywhere near the river ? I used to visit ion Elizabeth St regularly years ago and even painted the big old white duplex in the mid 70's.
Every time I get tired of keeping up the house and think about renting DW reminds me that I would go crazy with new rules and no busy work!
Right she is!
Looks like the fuel is getting even better $$$
Ian

Unless they've changed things since the last time I took the I-75 to Windsor crossing route, the bad stuff starts at the exit to the bridge with the ruts from the trucks in the ramp leading off the highway so bad you feel like you're on rails. The next little part is the stop lights and then that sharp turn and if you're in the outside lane in that turn get ready for a turban to put you into the concrete! Keep to the right lane if possible and then yield in the turn to one of those guys if you need to 'cause they have no respect for others.

Well I crossed in Sarnia Jan.1/2009 and was less than 3 min. and are now in a camp at GOLF SHORES ALABAMA on the Golf of Mexico cold at night but real nice in the day light hours...We have not been here before so just looking around before going to our camp in Mississippi a good drive down after getting out of Ontario and Michigan and washing the car and rolling house of salt what a mess. fuel was 2.28 and 1.56 for gas or about that average the M.H. gave us 14.5 miles per gallon.the car was in tow...take care all...John

Hey John....not much salt air in Hill Country north of San Antonio. Maybe get into that salty stuff in feb or mar when we go to Corpus Christie. I'm not missing the snow much either
The weather here is warming nicely...68 today up to 76+ tomorrow and the following week. Does Gulf State park have full hook ups and good rates? May head home that way.....Brad

Hi guys nice to see you made it down safely. We stopped off in Biloxi on the way down, wow what a change since Katrina blew thru. Went thru Alabama on I-10 on the way to Florida. It is cool over here also, but slowly warming up.

The park has full hooks but is pricey I think but full or close to it $344.for 2 weeks I will have to change lots if here any longer than 2weeks no month long lots were open but they have 2 week ones most of the time on first come first served...You are 15 miles from Fl.and the golf is just a 1/2 mile from the park some lots are water but You pay more also...John...We will move down to a casino or 2 or 3 for a little fun before We go up to our camp host job the 15 of feb.

CAA is recommending this route thru Detroit.

Clear customs Go straight ahead on 21st To Vernor Turn left Go to Clark turn left, Go to Fisher Freeway service Rd turn right and access I-75 south,

Does that route sound OK to you guys???

Rick

We just came tfru there today on the return trip with the car....take I94 through Detroit and pick up 275 that takes you right to 75...seamless and easy. I would personally avoid the Windsor crossing at all costs! And I lived in Windsor and commuted to Sarnia vis Detroit for 20 years!
